Schools across Kwara State will reopen on Monday, February 2, 2026, following government clearance after days of heightened security operations.
The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, said school authorities have been formally notified of the resumption date.
He noted that the security situation has improved, though government and security agencies remain on alert.
According to him, security forces are sustaining operations to consolidate recent gains, while the state government is also working to strengthen community resilience as part of broader safety measures.
The government reassured residents that operations to neutralize threats and maintain public safety will continue across affected areas.
The schools were earlier closed due to security threats in parts of the state.
