The Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), National Assembly, Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, has extended his condolences to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, over the passing of the Deputy Chief Whip, Hon. Adewumi Onanuga.
In a statement issued on Thursday, 16th January 2025, by the Media Adviser to the DG, Mohammad Abdulkadri, Professor Sulaiman describ the late lawmaker, who represented Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency in Ogun State, as a dedicated public servant and a virtuous woman.
The DG praised Hon. Onanuga’s simplicity, humility, and commitment to championing national interests, gender inclusivity, and her vocal contributions on the floor of the House. He noted that her absence will be deeply felt by her colleagues, constituents, and all who knew her.
Professor Sulaiman prayed for the repose of her soul and offered heartfelt condolences to her family.
