The Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Abubakar Sulaiman, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Hadiza Attahiru-Jega, wife of former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega.
A condolence statement issued on Sunday, by the DG’s Media Aide, Mohammad Abdulkadri, describes Hadiza, who died at the age of 63, as a woman of strong virtues whose life impacted many women, children, and families.
Prof. Sulaiman said the late Hadiza lived a fulfilled life marked by piety, humility, simplicity, and service to God and humanity, noting that her death is a painful loss not only to her family but to all who were touched by her life.

The NILDS DG also extended prayers for the repose of her soul, asking Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannat Firdaus.
“At these grieving moments, my heart and prayers are fully with Prof. Attahiru Jega… as I pray to Almighty Allah to forgive Hajiya Hadiza, accept her into Aljannat Firdaus and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss,” he said.
On behalf of the management and staff of NILDS, Prof. Sulaiman conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Prof. Jega and his family, praying for strength and emotional stability for them in this difficult time.
