NILDS Targets Legislative Reform with Strategic Partnerships

By: Aremu Toyeebaht

The National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS, says it’s intensifying efforts to reform Nigeria’s democratic institutions through two new strategic partnerships signed in Abuja.

On Friday, July 4th, NILDS formalised Memorandums of Understanding with Rhizome Consulting Limited and the DOHS Cares Foundation, a move seen as part of a broader agenda to strengthen legislative capacity and deepen democratic governance.

Director-General of NILDS, Professor Abubakar Sulaiman, described the agreements as a bold step toward improving civic education and institutional development across Nigeria’s democratic landscape.

According to a statement by his Media Adviser, Mohammad Abdulkadri, Professor Sulaiman says the partnerships reflect the Institute’s readiness to operate within a globally competitive environment while delivering impactful reforms in democratic practice.
