The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has reaffirmed its commitment to driving innovation through stronger collaboration between academia, researchers, and tech experts.
NITDA’s Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa, made this known when he received the Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.
The two institutions agreed to formalize their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance digital literacy, AI, and research-driven solutions, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Inuwa highlighted the potential of AI in healthcare, citing a study where AI-powered chatbots provided medical prescriptions as accurately as human doctors. He stressed that AI can bridge gaps in healthcare, agriculture, and education, driving national development.
Professor Liman commended NITDA’s support for tech education, noting that NSUK’s Digital Literacy Center is already training students in tech innovation. She emphasized that the collaboration will equip students with globally competitive digital skills.
This partnership is expected to accelerate innovation and strengthen Nigeria’s digital economy.
