APC Expands National Convention Committee to 90 Members

By Sulyman Gobir

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expanded and reconstituted its Central Coordination Committee for the 2026 National Convention, raising its membership from 73 to 90.

The increase it said is part of efforts to strengthen geopolitical balance and enhance organisational efficiency.

According to the party, the enlarged committee is designed to provide more robust administrative oversight and strategic coordination ahead of the convention, ensuring wider representation across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

Former Katsina State Governor and ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Bello-Masari, will chair the 90-member body.

Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, a former Senate President, has been appointed Vice Chairman One, while the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, will serve as Vice Chairman Two.

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has been named Secretary of the committee.

The APC said the restructuring underscores its commitment to an inclusive and transparent convention process that reflects internal democracy and national spread.
