A player in Nigeria’s sports business ecosystem, Godspower Odedede, is set to deliver a keynote address at the 3rd Career Lecture organised by the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in Kaduna state.
Odedede, Chief Executive Officer of G-O(DE)3 Sports Consult Ltd, will speak on “Career Opportunities and Entrepreneurship in Sports, Dance, Recreation and Tourism,” a theme expected to resonate strongly with students and young professionals seeking to tap into Nigeria’s expanding sports economy.
A statement by the organisers says his presentation will spotlight emerging pathways within the sector, including sports event management, establishment of sports academies, fitness and wellness services, sports tourism, facility development, and the sports equipment business.
He is also expected to provide practical insights on how to transform passion for sports into sustainable and profitable ventures.
Organisers say the annual lecture is designed to broaden students’ perspectives on career possibilities within Human Kinetics and Health Education, while bridging the often-cited gap between academic training and real-world industry demands.
Other notable dignitaries billed to attend include Hadiza Asabe Mohammed and Balarabe Garko Sani, while Mohammed Sanusi will chair the occasion.
The Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Adamu Ahmed, will serve as Chief Host, with Ahmed Abubakar Audi attending as Special Guest of Honour.
Widely recognised for his role in grassroots sports development and sports enterprise promotion, Odedede’s participation is expected to add significant value to the lecture, offering attendees both inspiration and actionable knowledge on navigating Nigeria’s evolving sports industry.
