The forms were presented in Abuja on Saturday by the group led by James Uko-Kalu (SAN) from Abia North Senatorial District, who described Kalu as a unifying figure with a strong legislative track record.
“We are here because we recognise the invaluable contributions the Deputy Speaker has made to Nigeria’s legislative process, resulting in tangible developments. From 2019 till date, we have followed his work closely and can attest to his outstanding performance,” he said.
Also speaking, retired Major General Jack Nwaogbu from Abia Central Senatorial District commended Kalu for fostering unity within the APC in Abia and the South-East, noting that the party has witnessed renewed cohesion in recent months.
Similarly, Barr. Uzo Azubuike from Abia South Senatorial District described the delegation as “messengers of the people,” urging Kalu to contest and provide leadership for the state.

Responding, Benjamin Kalu thanked the stakeholders for the show of confidence, saying the gesture reflects a call to serve.
“The purchase of this form is clearly a call for me to step forward… within the next one or two days, after due consultations, I will make my position known,” he said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the APC and pledged support for Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that unity and collective effort would determine the party’s success in Abia State.
