A former Director in the National Assembly of Nigeria, Olufemi Ogunsanya, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Badagry Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ogunsanya led a delegation of supporters to the APC National Secretariat in Abuja to obtain his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms, marking his official entry into the race.
Addressing supporters, Ogunsanya described his ambition as a people-driven project, stating that his candidacy reflects the collective aspiration of the Badagry constituency.
He emphasised that his over three decades of legislative and administrative experience within the National Assembly positions him to effectively represent the constituency from the outset.
He outlined a policy focus anchored on infrastructure development, particularly the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, economic revitalisation of the Seme border corridor, and targeted youth empowerment initiatives.
Leader of the Badagry delegation, Olufemi Kadiri, said the constituency’s support for Ogunsanya is rooted in his depth of experience and understanding of legislative processes, noting that the community is prioritising competence and capacity in its choice of representation.
The Ogunsanya Campaign Organisation confirmed that the completed nomination forms will be submitted ahead of the APC deadline, with the party’s screening process expected to commence in the coming days.
As part of early mobilisation efforts, the campaign is set to commence a ward-level tour across Badagry Federal Constituency, tagged “Thank You and Forward March.
