The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has set ₦60 million as the cost for aspirants seeking its presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to its timetable released Tuesday, aspirants will pay ₦20 million for Expression of Interest and ₦40 million for Nomination Forms.
The schedule was signed by National Chairman, Moses Zwughele, and National Secretary, Ikenna Enenweizu.
Sale of forms begins May 13–18, 2026, followed by screening from May 19–21. Only successful aspirants will proceed to purchase nomination forms, available May 21–23.
Completed forms must be submitted by May 25, while appeals will be heard May 25–26. The presidential primary is fixed for May 29, 2026, in Abuja.
Governorship aspirants will pay ₦30 million, Senate ₦8 million, House of Reps ₦6 million, and State Assembly ₦2.5 million.
The party said the fees remain among the lowest in the country and approved discounts of 50% for women and 25% for persons with disabilities.
Screening for presidential and National Assembly aspirants will be held at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja, while state assembly screening will take place in the states. Primaries will be conducted via open secret ballot.
The NDC, founded under Seriake Dickson, has attracted high-profile politicians including Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso ahead of 2027.
