Nigeria to Host ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers

Nigeria has once again been chosen to host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Sub-Regional C Qualifiers, marking the second consecutive time the country will stage the tournament.

The International Cricket Council confirmed on Wednesday that the competition will take place in Nigeria from October 18 to 25, 2026, as part of the qualification pathway for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

The Yellow Greens, who hosted and won the previous edition in Abuja in 2024 with a game to spare, will be aiming to build on that success after narrowly missing out on a place at the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup during the regional final stage.

This year’s tournament will feature six nations Nigeria, Gambia, Lesotho, Mozambique, Uganda, and Zambia battling for the two available spots in the regional final scheduled for next year.

Nigeria’s growing reputation as a reliable host for international cricket events played a major role in securing the hosting rights once again, underlining the country’s rising influence in African cricket.

With home support expected and qualification ambitions renewed, the Yellow Greens will be determined to make another strong statement on home soil as they chase a historic World Cup ticket.
