In the women’s division, Niger Brass produced a commanding performance to defeat Kuje Spikers in straight sets 3-0. Niger Brass controlled the game from start to finish, winning 25-17, 25-22, and 25-21.

One of the standout fixtures of the day saw NY Spikers edge QAT Spikers in a dramatic five-set contest. Coached by Lizzy Asemah, NY Spikers fought back strongly to claim a hard-earned 3-2 victory after an intense battle that ended 24-26, 25-14, 24-26, 25-15, 15-11.

Caliphate Spikers also survived a stern test against Plateau Rocks, securing a thrilling 3-2 win. After dominating the opening set 25-7, Caliphate Spikers were pushed all the way before sealing the encounter 15-10 in the deciding set.

In the men’s category, NAF Rockets swept aside Wikki Spikers 3-0 in a tightly contested encounter, winning all three sets by the same 25-23 margin.

Fire Fighters delivered a strong response after dropping the second set to overcome Plateau Rocks 3-1. The encounter ended 25-22, 20-25, 25-12, 25-23 in favour of Fire Fighters.

Day One had earlier produced several impressive performances, with NIS defeating Kwara 3-0, Light overcoming Wikki 3-0, Rhino beating NAF 3-1, while Sword edged Kada 3-2 in one of the most competitive matches of the opening day.

The league continues in Abuja with more exciting fixtures expected as teams intensify their quest for promotion and national glory.
