The 2026 National Division 1 Volleyball League continued to deliver exciting action in Abuja as top teams strengthened their positions with impressive victories on Day 5 of the competition.
In the men’s category, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) recorded a commanding straight-set victory over Katsina United, winning 25-20, 25-19, 25-19 to maintain their strong run in the tournament.
Wikki Spikers also extended their winning streak with a dominant 3-0 triumph against Sword VC. The Bauchi-based side controlled the encounter from start to finish, claiming the sets 25-16, 25-19, 25-18.
Kada Kings produced another solid performance to overcome Adamawa Spikers in straight sets. The Kaduna side won 25-19, 25-17 before edging a closely contested third set 28-26 to complete the sweep.
In the women’s Division One category, QAT defeated ACE Spikers 3-1 in an entertaining contest. After taking the opening two sets 25-17 and 25-23, QAT dropped the third set 24-26 before bouncing back to seal the fourth 25-16 and secure victory.
Meanwhile, in the Men’s Division Two, Fire Service outclassed Niger Brass with a comprehensive 3-0 win, recording set scores of 25-23, 25-20 and 25-21.
Attention now shifts to Day 6 fixtures on Friday, where several crucial matches are scheduled. In the women’s division, Plateau Queens will face NY Spikers, while Caliphate Queens take on Nigeria Immigration Service.
In the men’s Division One, Adamawa Spikers will battle NAF Rockets, Wikki Spikers meet Rhino Spikers, Light Spikers face Sword VC, Katsina United take on Kada Kings, and Nigeria Immigration Service clash with Bayelsa in what promises to be another thrilling day of volleyball action.
