COPDEM Hails Obi’s NDC Presidential Ticket

The Coalition for the Protection of Democracy (COPDEM) has congratulated Peter Obi on his ratification as the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 general elections.
In a statement signed by its National Chairman, Rwang Pam Jnr, the coalition describes Obi’s emergence as a significant milestone that reflects his longstanding commitment to good governance, transparency, accountability, and people-centred leadership.
“On behalf of the entire membership of the Coalition for the Protection of Democracy (COPDEM), I extend our warmest congratulations to you on your historic emergence as the Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 General Elections,” the statement read.
Pam said Obi’s selection as the party’s flagbearer is a testament to his unwavering dedication to national development, youth empowerment, and the fight against corruption.
According to him, Nigerians across the country have witnessed Obi’s commitment to promoting responsible leadership and advancing democratic ideals.
“We are confident that under your leadership, the NDC will present a formidable, credible, and transformative alternative in 2027,” he stated.
The COPDEM chairman reaffirmed the coalition’s commitment to protecting democratic values, promoting electoral integrity, and ensuring that the will of the people prevails.
“We stand ready to work with you and all genuine democrats to build a stronger, more prosperous, and united Nigeria. May this new journey bring renewed hope to millions of Nigerians who yearn for a better country,” he added.
The coalition also congratulated Obi’s running mate and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, wishing the ticket success in the journey ahead.
COPDEM reiterated its dedication to advancing democratic principles and supporting credible leaders committed to Nigeria’s progress and development.
