The third edition of the CGC Volleyball Premier League continued to gather momentum in Abuja, with defending champions and title contenders delivering impressive performances across Days Two and Three of the competition.
In the men’s category, Nigeria Customs Service reinforced their title ambitions with consecutive straight-set victories over Nigeria Police and Defence Spikers.
CNS Spikers also maintained their unbeaten run, defeating Nigeria Correctional Service and Sunshine Spikers 3-0 in both encounters.
COAS Spikers continued their strong form with back-to-back 3-0 victories against Offa VC and NSCDC, while Kano Pillars secured a comfortable straight-set win over Offa VC.
One of the tournament’s most thrilling matches saw NSCDC fight back from behind to edge Ajase Ipo 3-2 in a dramatic contest decided 19-17 in the final set.
UCEM VC also claimed a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Sunshine Spikers, while Defence Spikers defeated Life Camp VC 3-1 to keep their campaign on track.
In the women’s category, Nigeria Customs Service extended their unbeaten start with victories over VIP & Partners and NSCDC.
CNS Spikers were equally dominant, recording straight-set wins against Fire Service and Benue Queens.
Anambra Queens staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Excelsior VC 3-2 on Day Two but suffered a narrow 3-2 loss to Fire Service on Day Three.
Elsewhere, NAF Rockets swept aside Excelsior VC 3-0, VIP & Partners bounced back with a straight-set win over Olalomi Royal Angels, while COAS Spikers secured another convincing 3-0 victory over Life Camp VC.
With several teams still unbeaten and a number of matches producing thrilling five-set battles, the opening phase of the 2026 CGC Volleyball Premier League has delivered excitement, resilience and high-quality volleyball, setting the stage for an intense race for honours in Abuja.
