The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has completed all logistical and operational arrangements for Saturday’s Ekiti State governorship election, with security agencies and election officials fully mobilised across the state.
The electoral body confirmed that the deployment of sensitive and non-sensitive materials, including ballot papers, result sheets, and Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines, has been completed across the 16 local government areas to ensure a smooth voting process.

INEC said the early distribution of materials is aimed at preventing last-minute delays and guaranteeing timely commencement of accreditation and voting at the state’s 2,445 polling units.
The Commission also assured voters that adequate security measures have been put in place through the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security, urging eligible citizens to turn out peacefully and exercise their civic responsibility.
Meanwhile, Ekiti State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Bunmi Omoseyindemi, disclosed in an exclusive interview with Democracy Radio that raincoats and other protective materials have been distributed to electoral personnel and ad-hoc staff following heavy rainfall in parts of the state on Friday morning.

According to the REC, the move is intended to ensure that election officials can carry out their duties effectively despite adverse weather conditions.
Polling is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, with 1,059,360 registered voters expected to cast their ballots across the state.
