President Bola Tinubu has commissioned the 13-kilometre Gomani–Dafa–Yangoji Road in Kwali Area Council, describing the project as a significant investment in rural development aimed at improving connectivity and unlocking economic opportunities for local communities.
Represented at the commissioning ceremony on Tuesday by Godswill Akpabio, the President said the road reflects his administration’s commitment to extending critical infrastructure to underserved communities under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Tinubu said the new road would provide easier access for farmers to markets, schools and healthcare facilities, reduce post-harvest losses and stimulate agricultural productivity in Kwali and surrounding communities. He added that the project underscores the government’s determination to bridge the development gap between Abuja’s city centre and its satellite towns.
The President also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing ongoing infrastructure projects nationwide, declaring that the era of abandoned government projects is over. He urged residents and traditional rulers to safeguard the road against vandalism to ensure its long-term benefits.
Speaking at the event, Nyesom Wike said the project was approved in November 2025 following appeals from community leaders for better access roads and improved security. He noted that the road was delivered ahead of schedule as part of a series of rural infrastructure projects being inaugurated to mark the administration’s third anniversary.
Wike commended Zeberced Limited for completing the project within the agreed timeline, saying the achievement demonstrates the capacity of contractors to deliver quality infrastructure through effective supervision and commitment.
Earlier, the Coordinator of the Satellite Towns Development Department, Abdulkadir Zulkiflu, disclosed that the 13-kilometre road was completed to approved engineering standards within eight months and includes supporting infrastructure to enhance transportation and promote sustainable development across the area.
