The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the June 20 Ekiti governorship election, Wole Oluyede, has joined forces with five other political parties to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
The alliance, known as the Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda (OPARHA), includes the PDP, Accord, Action Democratic Party, Young Progressive Party and Action Alliance, among other political groups.
The alliance was unveiled during its inaugural meeting in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.
Oluyede said the decision to support Tinubu was based on the national interest and not financial considerations.
He said the President had reached out to him and urged him to put aside his grievances over the outcome of the Ekiti governorship election and work with his administration.
Oluyede also declared an end to his political differences with Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, saying they would work together in support of Tinubu’s 2027 ambition.
He, however, maintained that the PDP remained committed to reclaiming power in Ekiti State after Oyebanji’s tenure ends in 2030.
