Oyebanji Urges Ekiti APC to Support Tinubu for 2027

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has called on APC leaders and stakeholders to unite and mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 general election.

Oyebanji made the call on Monday at an APC stakeholders’ meeting Government House, Ado Ekiti.

The meeting also produced an eight-member committee to oversee preparations for the party’s ward, local government and state congresses scheduled for September.

Oyebanji said the congresses would shape the party’s preparations for the December local government election and the 2027 general elections.

He urged party leaders to ensure the process remains peaceful, transparent and inclusive, saying this would strengthen the APC at the grassroots.

“We have broken the jinx of consecutive tenure; we have to break another jinx when I leave in 2030, another APC person must emerge,” Oyebanji said.

He also appealed to party members to support President Tinubu, whom he said had been supportive of Ekiti State.

“Once again I appeal to us all that we need to give our best to our President; he has been so good to us, he has been extremely supportive, and this is the only opportunity to say thank you,” the governor said.

The APC State Chairman, Sola Elesin, also urged members to sustain the momentum from Oyebanji’s re-election by strengthening grassroots mobilisation ahead of future elections.

Former Governor Segun Oni similarly called for stronger grassroots engagement and increased voter mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
