The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, says President Bola Tinubu has outperformed every democratically elected Nigerian president during their first term in office.
Morka made the claim on Monday, during an interview on national television’s program.
He said Tinubu inherited an economy that was “completely in a mess” when he assumed office in May 2023.
According to the APC spokesman, the President’s performance should be assessed based on the economic indicators recorded under his administration.
Asked to identify the specific indicators supporting his assessment, Morka said the evidence was clear. “The indicators speak for themselves,” he said.
Morka’s claim comes amid continued debate over Tinubu’s economic policies and their impact on Nigerians.
Since assuming office, the administration has introduced major economic reforms, including changes to fuel subsidy and foreign exchange policies, while Nigerians continue to debate their effects on living standards and economic growth.
The statement also comes as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections intensify.
