The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will begin distributing Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to eligible registered voters within the next three days.
INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, disclosed this at a strategic engagement meeting with journalists in Abuja.
The distribution will cover voters who recently registered, transferred their voting locations or applied to replace damaged PVCs.
According to the commission, the exercise is part of preparations to ensure eligible Nigerians can participate in the 2027 general elections.
Amupitan also said INEC is strengthening its use of technology to prevent stolen, lost or compromised voter cards from being used by unauthorised persons.
He urged political parties and their supporters to avoid disrupting the campaigns, rallies and other activities of rival parties ahead of the 2027 elections.
