President Bola Tinubu has said the newly completed Mabushi–Ahmadu Bello Way Link Road will unlock fresh economic opportunities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), describing infrastructure development as a key driver of national growth and prosperity.
Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima during the commissioning of Collector Roads C01 and C02 in Mabushi District, the President said the project is more than a transportation upgrade, noting that it is designed to improve connectivity, reduce travel time and stimulate business activities across Abuja.
According to Tinubu, the new road provides a direct link between the Mabushi Bus Terminal and Ahmadu Bello Way, easing traffic congestion while creating new opportunities for residents, investors and businesses.
He said the project aligns with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises strategic infrastructure investments to boost productivity, strengthen the economy and improve citizens’ quality of life.
The President also commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for accelerating infrastructure delivery across the territory, saying the administration’s vision of building a more accessible and functional capital city is steadily taking shape.
Speaking at the event, Wike described the road as part of a series of projects being commissioned to mark the administration’s third anniversary, adding that development efforts are now extending beyond the city centre to surrounding districts and satellite communities.
He attributed the pace of infrastructure delivery in the FCT to President Tinubu’s support and consistent funding, stressing that the government’s commitment has enabled the execution of critical projects.
The minister further revealed that the new corridor has already attracted increased real estate investment, with residential developments springing up along the route and enhancing the area’s economic value.
Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, hailed the project as another milestone in Abuja’s transformation, saying it would improve mobility, support economic activities and strengthen the capital’s urban landscape.
Earlier, Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Richard Dauda, said the 3.4-kilometre dual carriageway features drainage infrastructure, sewer and water networks, telecommunication ducts, walkways and streetlights to support sustainable urban development.
Managing Director of Setraco Nigeria Plc, Ziad Mouannes, disclosed that construction began in September 2025 and was completed in less than 10 months, meeting high engineering and quality standards.
