The family of late Nollywood veteran Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has announced the remaining programmes for his burial rites.
Ogogo, who died at the age of 66 on Sunday, August 23, 2026, was buried in Ilaro, Ogun State, on Monday in accordance with Islamic rites.
His burial was attended by prominent colleagues and friends, including veteran actors Yinka Quadri, Jide Kosoko and Femi Adebayo, who gathered to pay their final respects to the late thespian.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Jide Kosoko announced that the 8th-day Fidau prayer for Ogogo will be held on Monday, August 31, in Ilaro.
The family will also host an Artists’ Day 40 days after the burial at the Pavilion Hall, Ilaro, in celebration of Ogogo’s life, career and lasting contribution to the Nigerian entertainment industry.
The event is expected to bring together actors, musicians, comedians, singers and other entertainers, with the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) coordinating the programme.
Kosoko appealed to Ogogo’s colleagues, friends, fans and well-wishers to continue supporting the family and attend the Fidau prayer in large numbers.
He also expressed appreciation to those who attended the burial, describing their presence as a reflection of the love and respect they had for the late actor.
Ogogo was a prominent figure in Yoruba-language cinema and built a career spanning decades as an actor, producer and filmmaker after joining the industry in the early 1980s.
