Oliver Okpala speaking in a political statement defending APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje

Okpala Urges Galadima to Focus on State Development, Defends Ganduje

By Sulyman Gobir

Oliver Okpala, former Senior Special Assistant on Public Enlightenment to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has called on a chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, to focus on contributing to the development of his home state rather than engaging in frequent media commentary.

In a statement personally signed on Monday, Okpala describes recent allegations made by Galadima against Ganduje as unfounded, maintaining that the APC National Chairman remains a leader known for integrity, experience, and political maturity.

“Dr. Ganduje would not resort to personal insults as alleged,” Okpala said.

Galadima had accused Ganduje of making disparaging remarks about former President Muhammadu Buhari, an allegation Okpala dismissed, insisting that it does not reflect Ganduje’s conduct or political record.

According to Okpala, Ganduje’s tenure as Governor of Kano State, where he served two terms, was marked by policies and initiatives that had positive impacts on the state.

He added that Ganduje remains committed to democratic principles and constructive political engagement.

Okpala advised Galadima to adopt a more conciliatory approach to political discourse, urging him to focus on issue-based engagement rather than personal criticism.

He concluded by stating that Ganduje continues to enjoy the respect and support of many residents of Kano State, whom he described as appreciative of his leadership and contributions to the state’s political development.
