Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has revealed that she quietly welcomed a child with her partner, saying the news was intentionally kept away from the public for more than two years before she decided to share it on her birthday.
The actress made the announcement in a post on her Instagram page on Sunday, opening up about a deeply personal chapter of her life that she said was marked by private struggles, resilience, and gratitude.
“Today, on my birthday, I’m finally sharing what we’ve protected for over two years,” she wrote, describing the experience as one that involved “silent battles, moments that tested me, and a strength I had to grow into.”
According to Adunni, the decision to keep her pregnancy and the birth of her daughter private was a conscious one aimed at preserving peace and protecting her family’s happiness.
“We chose privacy. Not because we owed anyone secrecy but because peace is priceless, and not everything good needs an audience. We wanted to enjoy our blessing,” she stated.
The actress also addressed public assumptions often associated with single mothers, stressing that not every personal story should be viewed through the lens of controversy.
“Not every single mother fits your assumptions. Not every story is a scandal. Not every blessing comes with drama attached,” she wrote, describing her daughter as a blessing that arrived in God’s perfect timing.
Adunni revealed that the journey to motherhood with her partner spanned nearly a decade, making the arrival of their baby girl especially meaningful.
“A journey of almost a decade! Almighty blessed us with our first child together. Our baby girl, our answered prayer, my evidence that God still writes beautiful stories in His own time,” she said.
Reflecting on the distinction between her public image and private life, the actress noted that fans only see a fraction of who she is.
“Adunni Ade online is one thing. Adunni Adewale at home is something you may never fully understand and that’s okay,” she added.
She thanked supporters for their love and goodwill while clarifying that no family or relationship was harmed in the process of welcoming her child.
Adunni Ade is already a mother of two sons, D’Marion Young and Ayden Young, from her previous relationship with Michael Boyd. The two boys have long been known to the public, while her daughter remained out of the spotlight until her recent revelation.
