The National Orientation Agency (NOA) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have renewed their commitment to a stronger partnership aimed at improving security, promoting civic responsibility and closing the communication gap between government and citizens in Kwara State.
The commitment was reaffirmed during a working visit by the NOA Zonal Director for the North Central Zone, Princess Dr. Priscilla Gondoaluor, to the Kwara State Command of the NSCDC, where she was received by the State Commandant, Abbas Ndah Mohammed, and senior officers of the command.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Gondoaluor praised the NSCDC for its unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives, protecting critical national assets and combating criminal activities across the state.
She described the Corps as a frontline security agency whose dedication and sacrifices have continued to strengthen peace and public safety.
She stressed the importance of sustained public enlightenment and grassroots engagement in building trust between government and citizens, noting that the NOA remains committed to educating Nigerians on government policies while also listening to public concerns, addressing misconceptions and encouraging active citizen participation.
The NOA Zonal Director also commended the Corps for its efforts in protecting public infrastructure from vandalism, describing the protection of national assets as a shared responsibility that requires the cooperation of every Nigerian.
According to her, lasting security cannot be achieved by security agencies alone but through strong collaboration among government institutions, community leaders and citizens.
Responding, Kwara State NSCDC Commandant Abbas Ndah Mohammed applauded the National Orientation Agency for its strategic role in civic education and public communication, describing the partnership as both timely and essential in addressing emerging security challenges.
He pledged the Corps’ full support for the Agency’s programmes and initiatives across the state, emphasising that sustainable peace depends on effective security operations, public confidence and continuous community engagement.
